Fairview Township

Fairview Township is located within Luzerne County, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As of the 2010 Census the population was 4,520.  The area which encompasses the township is 9.42 miles.  Ashley Planes located in the township is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Residents of the township are represented by Representative Eddie Day Pashinski (D), PA House District #121. The PA Senatorial District is #14 represented by Senator John T. Yudichak (D).

Fairview Township has seen residential and commercial growth over the past five to ten years.  One of the newest residential areas is Taylor Estates which will see 28 new residences. Another development Sherwood Estates will construct duplex and apartment residences in the upcoming year.

Geisinger recently opened an outpatient clinic in Fairview with over 20,000 square feet of commercial space.

Fairview Township is centrally located between two cities in Luzerne County, Hazleton and Wilkes-Barre. Residents living in the township have a roughly 15 minute commute to both hubs.

Crestwood School District is the public school system.  The district has four schools:  Rice Elementary, Fairview Elementary, Crestwood Middle School, and Crestwood High School. The District Office is located at: 281 South Mountain Boulevard

Students have the option to attend the regional career and technical school (Wilkes-Barre Career Career & Technology Center) located in nearby Plains Township.
